DML - The cross-city link in Zurich

For about 1.8 billion Swiss Francs, the Swiss federal railways are building a new cross-city rail link in Zurich, mostly in tunnel. Both metropolitan area (S-Bahn) and long distance trains will benefit from the additional capacity. The cross-city line will allow improved connections and new direct services.

RCS - Rail Control System

Since 2008, this new system has been helping monitor and dispatch trains in Swiss traffic control centres. It uses real-time data on train locations and in particular allows a precise management of movements on every track and more reliable operational forecasts.

KIS/CUS - Customer Information System

KIS/CUS captures information on the current state of public transport operations and processes it for transmission to display devices in stations and vehicles. The system allows the integration of information from other public transport companies, such as tram and bus operators, in order to show the customer the entire transport chain including connections.
